I’m a true believer in the idea that you need to be the change you want to see in the world.
If you’ve been following along on any of my platforms, you’ve likely heard me talking about Collective Influence. And while Collective Influence is really targeted towards the Influencer community, I wanted to take a few moments to explain it to all of you… because I think there’s a lesson here that’s bigger than any one industry.
So let’s take a step back. My lovely blogging pal Andrea (from Harlow and Thistle) and I got to chatting one night… about a little bit of everything, but mostly about how we felt that there was something missing from the Influencer community in Canada. There are pockets of amazingly talented, passionate, and caring bloggers from coast to coast in our great country… but there was no where for these bloggers to unite.
Andrea and I both felt equally passionate about the concept of Community Over Competition, and about the need for an organization that focused on professional development for influencers. A positive space where we could unite our ideas, passions and knowledge to help each other grow. To ensure that we’re on the cutting edge of our industry, and to demonstrate our commitment to continuous development.
So, we made one.
Collective Influence Co launched earlier this month, with a room full of fabulous folks, a focus on transparency and engagement, and a really, really fun night!
All of the adorable décor was provided by IKEA and added the perfect blend of bohemian fun for the evening (check out their spring collection if you want to add a little of this flare to your space too). I maaaay have wanted to smuggle every one of the pillows home with me.
So, here’s the moral of the story. Be the change.
If you’re passionate about something. If you feel there’s a need that’s not being met. If you feel there’s a space to inject positivity.
Use your unique skills and build a solution.
It may be a little bumpy. It may be hard. But the world will always be better for people injecting a bit more passion and positivity into their lives.

NOTE; The furniture and accent pieces for this event and post were provided by IKEA at no cost. We loved working with them, and were thrilled with the feeling and mode set by the decor!
